Strandbad Gänsehäufel

There are lots of great public pools in Vienna but the locals love to cool off in the summer by swimming in the (clean!) Donau river! Gänsehaufel is an island on the old Danau. It is accessible by bridge and has lots of shady spots to picnic, swimming pools, stand up paddling and places to eat.
